Want to try beekeeping?
We're delighted to hear it. Beekeeping is highly enjoyable and because bees are an integral part of pollination, their absence would have far-reaching negative consequences. That's why we want to encourage as many people to try it as we can.
A national starter kit is the usual way in, and we will happily talk you through what is in one before you commit. If you would rather understand the bees first, we also run beekeeping instruction for beginners and can put you in touch with what is happening locally.

Once the bees are in
What comes after the first hive
A colony gives you far more than honey. Once you are extracting, you will want jars, labels and straining equipment, and before long you will be rendering wax down. Our hive products page covers beeswax, propolis, pollen and royal jelly, and what each of them is good for.
Beekeepers looking at hive products for health and healing should read about apitherapy, where we hold stock, books and supplies and can arrange one to one guidance. And if a swarm turns up somewhere it shouldn't, our pest control service can deal with it.
Not sure what to order?
Ring us before you buy. Hive sizes, frame types and varroa treatments all catch people out, and a two-minute conversation usually saves a wasted order.
